Where the name came from
Back in 2016 I was recruiting drivers, and I put together our National Driver Appreciation Week — music, prizes, a whole day built for people who usually get a banner in the breakroom and a box of donuts.
I got a DJ from a major radio station out there to broadcast it live. And somewhere in the middle of that, on the air, he asked me whether people could just call me.
Nobody wrote it down. Nobody approved it. I said:
“Yeah. Call me De Directly.”
That line ended up on the radio. Then it ended up on TV. It's the reason De Directly LLC has the name it has, and it's the reason this page exists.
I listen to every message. The best ones end up on the show — and the ones that need more than a shout-out get an answer back from me.
